I haven't blogged in a very long time, as you can see. I have been through alot in the since then. Maybe some day, I will get into all of that mess. So you ask, why revive this blog? Well, fantasy football is going to be starting up in a few weeks. I want to be able to look back at my season and know what I was thinking. It may help in future years to help me win a championship.
There was a rules meeting this past weekend and the major rule change was going from one keeper to three. With keeping a player, their salaries go up. What ever you got the player for last year, you add to their salary. If it is from 1-10 Mil, it goes up 3 Mil. If it is 11+, you add 2 Mil.
Now time to make decisions. I was planning on keeping Chad Johnson anyway. Last year, the rule for the one keeper was he was to be paid 15 Mil. Now I will have to pay him 17 Mil. Looking over the rest of my roster from the 06 season, I got RB Laurence Maroney for a CHEAP 1 Mil. Hell, I will pay 4 Mil to keep a starting RB. Also, to beef up my RBs, which I have been bad at in the past, I am looking to keep Reggie Bush for 12.7 Mil (up from 9.7).
Our league is an auction league with a 100 Mil salary cap. With those three keepers, that is a total of 33.7 Mil. I still have 66.3 for the draft.
Listed below is my 2006 roster.
QBs Ben Roethlisberger 16.1 Charlie Batch 1.0 Matt Hasselbeck 10.5
RBS Reggie Bush 9.7 Julius Jones 8.6 Laurence Maroney 1.0
WRS Chad Johnson 15.0 Chris Henry 2.1 Anquan Boldin 11.4
Bernard Berrian 1.0 Marty Booker 1.0 Santana Moss 7.8
TEs Desmond Clark 1.0 Jason Witten 4.0
Ks Neil Rackers 5.1 Olindo Mare 1.0
Def Chiefs 1.0 Saints 1.0
If you think I should "Keep" a different player than what I listed above, please let me know. I will listen to anything and consider it. Keepers list is due August 31.
