Time to turn it around!!!
JR is now 26th in the point standings. At 315 points behind leader Jimmy "Jackass" Johnson, it looks as if 2005 can be written off as to making the Chase for the Cup. He needs a top 5 finish this weekend, along with some help. So far, I think the off-season crew chief, pit crew, driver switch has been a total disaster. This is make or break weekend. May be he will pull a page out of Daddy's book and "Rattle Someone's Cage."

What is wrong with this picture???
If you look closely at the picture above, you will note that all the Marines pictured are bowing their heads. That's because they're praying! This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of the corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms.
"These are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler, a spokesman for the ACLU, "on federal property and on federal time. For them to pray is clearly an establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud immediately."
When asked about the ACLU's charges, Colonel Jack Fessender, speaking for the Commandant of the Corps said (cleaned up a bit), "Screw the ACLU. GOD Bless Our Warriors, Send the ACLU to France."
The ACLU is trying to remove GOD from everything and every place in America. May God Bless America, One Nation Under GOD!

Finally, the countdown may begin...
I am going to borrow an idea from GOC, TCIDNN. For those long time readers of GOC know at that stands for. For those that don't, THE COMPANY I DARE NOT NAME. Who knows, may be some day I will finally reveal who they are.
After being on third shift for the past six years for TCIDNN, I am going to switch to first shift. I finally earned enough seniority to make the move. I am really looking forward to it. I will be able to spend more time with my wife and kids. Right now, I see them for few hours in the morning, and breifly in the evening. What really got me was about two months ago.
Five years ago, Mrs B was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. After trying different treatments and medication, her doctor opted for surgery. They performed a Small Bowel Resection. Yeah doesn't sound pretty. She was in for a week. She is doing a lot better know. She is able to eat what ever she wants. Still medicated though. It is an attempt to keep it in remission. Good luck babe.
With her in the hospital, I used the FMLA. All this does is protect your job. Basically, take the time you need off and it doesn't count against you. If you want to get paid, goodbye vacation and sick time. Still trying to recoup in those departments. I had very little in both by the time I went back. I was sick two weeks ago and still went to work for only six hours for two nights. That was rough.
Day shift is going to going to be a whole new world. I have a little idea of what to expect, but still going in guarded. I will be bitching, oops I mean blogging all about it. There are a few people I don't know if I can work with, but I am going to make the best of it. I am not going back to third shift. April 23 is my first day. There will probably not be much at first, but I am sure it will build into some good rants.

Something Needs to be Done NOW!!!
I followed the Jessica Lundsford story and it broke my heart to find out that she was molested and murdered. All because of some burned out, looser, repeat, sex-offender. Now we have Jeseta Gage. Once again, it is a REPEAT OFFENDER!!!
I worry every day when my children leave the house. I wonder if some nutjob is going to come after one of them. D-just turned 10, K is 7, and J is 5. K, my only daughter, I worry about the most because she is entering that target age for them sick-os. She is daddy's little girl.
I don't blame Mark Lundsford asking to meet John Couey just once. That is all it would take. It would save tax-payers thousands of dollars.
Until they make kidnapping/child molestation/murder a capital offense and apply the death penalty, we need to arm us as parents with what the government has given us. The National Sex Offender Registry and your local State Sex Offender registry, mine is KY. I know this only warns us of the convicted offenders. But it is a start. I put in my zip code and found 6 in my city, 10 in one city next door (come to find out, there is one about a block from my house), and 33 in the city on the other side. I have gone through them and plan to refresh myself with them on a regular basis. I don't want any of them near my kids.
The main flaw in this system is that we can't look out for the first time offenders. That is where we as parents give our kids the knowledge. I know the simple "don't talk to strangers" sounds lame, but it is a start. "Don't take candy." "Don't get a car." My mom started something with me when I was young. It was the color code words. Ours was green-green, our eyes. We never had to use it. My parents were involved in anything I did. If they weren't coaching, they were at least there cheering, encouraging, and supporting me. I thank them for it. It has made me to be a better person and parent for it.
The problem in the Jessica case was that Couey wasn't even staying at the location he gave when he registered. We need to up the security of our children. If Martha can wear it, I think all sex offenders should wear them. They need to wear GPS devices. They can not be allowed to roam too far from home. This will cover the "I forgot" excuse. I think they need to wear them during their probation period. If they prove they can behave, then they can have it removed. But, like a said before, there is one about a block away. He can't be restricted to only his front lawn. Or could he. Would it be better if they were locked up forever or what if this was done?

Less than 7 days to go...
Since late last year, I have been counting down to this coming weekend. I will be traveling down to Bristol, Tennessee. If you are a Nascar fan, you will know that I will be at Bristol Motor Speedway. This will be my first Nextel Cup event. I can't wait. I am so fired up. This is my favorite short track. It is 0.533 of a mile. It looks as if they shoved a race track into a football stadium. How do they fit 43 cars on such a little track? All I know is that it makes for great wrecks. I am going to try to post some pictures when I get back. I am hoping to run into as many drivers as I can. I will be looking for Junior. I doubt that I will see him outside the track.
The weather report doesn't look good. There is a chance of rain most of the weekend. We are leaving on Friday, so we will be camping out for two days. I don't want to sleep on a soggy ground or cramped up in a truck. Also, I don't want a rain shortened race. I went through that at Kentucky Speedway a couple years back. Not only were we freezing cold and wet. They didn't finish the race until the next Monday, bacause of the Cup race on Sunday. We were not able to go back to see the finish. We didn't have a babysitter and I had to work that night. It is still a week away, I pray for sunny weather.
This is a make or break track for most drivers. Dale Jr needs to have a top five finish along with taking advantage of some of the points leaders having bad days. He has had a very bad season. Nothing seams to be going his way. Every time he gets a break, something breaks on the car or has a wreck.
I have been to two Busch Series races here at Kentucky Speedway. Last year was awesome because we were front row. Damn, those cars were loud. Cup cars are LOUDER!!! The feeling of that rumbling in your chest is like nothing else. It looks as if Mrs B and I are headed back to that race again. I just looked into tickets for that race last week. $45 a ticket is too bad. Hell, Bristol got me for $90 a ticket.

Just Devastating
What a game! That shot Sparks made to force OT was awesome. He was clearly behind the line. You could tell by the blue tips of his shoes. The slow motion enhancement of his feet definitely showed it. But it was all for not. Hopefully next year Tubby can recruit some rebounders. I think that was the biggest problem for KY. They were unable to bring down boards on either end of the court. Well, I can't believe I am going to say it, but come on Louisville. Being a long time KY fan, Pitino is my favorite coach. At least this way the championship can come back to the state of Kentucky.

What in the heck am I doing starting a blog? I really haven't the first clue as to what to write about, link to, or post on. Occasionally, I have opinions on things that frankly, people could careless about. But, I really don't care. I will post on just about anything. Sports, news, politics, or life in general. It really doesn't matter. I just want to have fun with it. May be I will make some new friends by interacting with this blog and others. Once I get things set up, feel free to interact with the site. I just know, in this crazy world, I am just "Along for the Ride".
