JR gets a Top 5!!!
After 3 hours and 9 minutes at Phoenix International Speedway, host of the Subway 500 Nascar Nextel Cup Series Race, Dale Earnhardt Jr, driver of the DEI Budweiser No 8 Cheverolet, finish 4th. His teammate, Michael Waltrip, driver of the DEI NAPA Autoparts No 15 Cheverolet, finish 2nd. He smacked the wall twice and got into the loose stuff once fighting to get a win.
This is awesome. DEI brings home two Top 5s after last weeks two Top 10s. This could be the big turn around that these racing teams needed. With Jimmy "Jackass" Johnson finishing 15th, it shook up the standings a bit. We now have 18 drivers in contention for the Chase for the Cup. Mikey became a contender at 18th. He was the biggest mover this week of six spots to be 394 points behind. Dale Jr moved up three spots to 12th, to be 313 points back. Congrats to both. Have a good night of celebrating! Keep diggin', the top 10 is in sight.
Speaking of the Top 10, Tony Stewart fell out last week and then this week lost three more spots. He is now sitting 14th at 347 back. I don't see this staying for very long. Tony should be boiling. I would like to really know what happened. Did Tony check up or did Jimmy "Jackass" drive into him. I don't see the point of driving into a turn when you are behind someone unless you have a run and can move around them. Jimmy went straight into the back bumber. Come on, what kind of sh*t is that? Every time he does something like that, the first words you hear out of his mouth is "Now you know I would never intensionally do that." You can only hear it so many times until you start to not believe it.
Casey Mears #41, was the biggest dropper of the week of nine spots to 26th, -469. He also fell out of contention, as he was one the 17 from last week.
Rusty Wallace #2, was the biggest dropper of the week that is still in contention. He dropped seven spots as to being tied up in the Tony wreck. He is 10th at 300 points back.
